If you're disposing of IT equipment such as computers, you want to be sure that data are securely purged from your equipment as soon as possible.

RecommIT is an approved Government contractor and its security procedures and data purging methods are subject to audit by the appropriate agencies. Its' services are also available through the Catalogue of Security Equipment (CSE) sponsored by the Security Equipment Assessment Panel (SEAP) under the authority of the Cabinet Office.

As an approved Government contractor, our data purging methods are

subject to external audit
compliant with relevant GCHQ CESG* INFOSEC Memo No 5 (05/03) standards:

Baseline - removing partitions, overwriting and reformatting of hard drives
Enhanced - as above, plus specialised overwrite upon request

If overwriting fails, hard disks and tapes are physically destroyed and recycled.
